Hi will be using 12x1.6mm MLC for a project and would like to terminate into a fitting other than an UFH manifold, eg, regular 15mm copper. Can't seem to find a coupler for that - any ideas out there? cheers Andy

Hi All, I’m installing an ufh system using procrate and 16mm ufh pipe. The procrate is laid on top of insulation but I’m finding that at each bend and return the pipe is either pulling out of the procrate or the procrate is lifing up. What am I doing wrong? This is the 3rd system I’ve installed...

I have NuHeat UFH system, and this has no Thermostatic Blending valve on the heating circuit. (Heat Master II cylinder has pick up coil) Nu-Heat System installed - This means I can't run store above 60C due to risk of overheating UFH pipes. I want to add a Thermostatic Mixing valve so have...

I have a gas boiler for DHW and single zone heating (S-plan with TRVs on all radiators). Now I'm retired and my circulation isn't as good as it once was, I have problems in the colder months with cold feet - particularly on tiled or engineered wood panel flooring on the ground floor. I have...

Hi all, sorry a very stupid question from a newbie. I think some of my actuators are not closing the valves fully, so there's flow even when the heating is 'off'. Is there a way of checking/adjusting these? Can I just pull them off? Should I instead just tighten the nut at the top (the...

I have a Neura heat pump and my thermostat has failed (Theben RAM 797 b). I'm looking to replace it with another more modern one I can use with an app etc. My question is, can I replace it with any thermostat or do I require a very specific type thermostat to run the heat pump? Thanks for...

Hello all. First time posting so apologies if this is answered elsewhere. I am close to completing a purchase of my first flat, an ex-council place from the 1960s built in the usual concrete slab and brick. At present there is some ghastly pipe work for the radiators sprawling round every...

Looking to install a kitchen island with integral sink, this will mean installing drainage and plumbing. But will need to dig a hole through UFH, has anybody done this before?

I'm the homeowner of a heat pump + UFH installation, 2 floors with 1 manifold on each floor and a common pump. On both floors each circuit has the same problem: whenever a zone asks for heat and the motorized valve opens there is a some loud knocking going on (see video). In the case of the...

Hi. We have recently bought the ground floor of a Victorian house, about 100 m2. The floors are all laid to very solid floor boards and the ceilings are 3m high. I've had some quotes from a couple of UFH firms, one says they'll lay their product directly onto the exisiting floor boards and the...

Hi all. Hope you are well. I need to quote for a job where they want underfloor heating downstairs in the dining kitchen area. The dining room is screed and insulation. Old screed I have taken up and the old is suspended floor with 100mm joists with sleeper walls 350mm apart. Anyone use a...

Hello I have an oil fired Worcester regular boiler which suddenly has a mind of its own. Programmer totally off but the boiler is firing up. I’ve noticed that the valve doesn’t move when I turn on the programmer and click the thermostat to on. Should it? The DHW valve doesn’t have a visible...

Good morning, wondered if anyone can advise please on a resolution? My set up at home is that I have a 4-bed detached with 21 radiators (includes 4 towel rails), a 6m x 4m orangery/conservatory that was built last year with under-floor heating, and a Megaflo for storing hot water. The UFH...

Similar to radiator dT's, is there a way to mathematically calculate the UFH pipe centres required to satisfy a given room's heat demands? 150mm-250mm centres are banded about online, with no real explanation, obviously smaller centres allow for lower water temps, but there must be a more...

Hi all, I hope you're keeping well in this madness! I wanted to ask a (probably stupid) question. I live in an apartment with underfloor heating, I've pictured what I can of it as I'm sure that'll make more sense than me trying to describe it. During summer, I rely on a mobile aircon unit and...

Hi all, I have recently had a UFH circuit added to my existing CH/HW system and had a question on performance when UFH and CH are operating at the same time. My boiler is an Vailliant EcoTec Plus 630 and for a number of years this was running with a CH and HW loop only. Each loop had a 2 port...

Hello I'm looking at the different pipes for UFH, the prices vary a lot and I'm not sure about the differences between the products. I'm doing two zones, one 127m the other 70m, both will be under screed. JG barrier pipe will cost £400 but Pert-Evoh-Pert is only £170. Both say they are 15mm...
