I'n trying to free-up the swiveling spout on monobloc kitchen tap.

I've tried soaking it in PlusGas hoping it'd seep down & give me a shot moving it - but no luck. The only heat I've tried is boiling water - didn't want to spoil the brushed finish.

Any suggestions to get it freed-up?

Remove spout, clean inside of tap body and matching part of spout, grease O ring(s) with silicone grease. Replace making sure that if split nylon spacer fitted, grub screw goes into split.

You'll need to remove the spout with or without a grub screw. If the tower part swivels, it must rotate about the base. There has to be a way of dismantling it, otherwise it couldn't have been built in the first place. It may require the tap to be taken apart top down to achieve it, or even removed. You'll need to be able to turn both hot and cold supplies off.

See if you can find a makers name and installation instructions. In any case, you'll need to remove the Plus Gas as its likely to rot the rubber seals inside the tap.

Are you sure it is actually a swiveling spout as opposed to a fixed spout?....do you know the name or brand of this tap?....regards Turnpin:)

Are you in a hard water area. Was the property empty at any point. I have had a few scale up before.

Water's medium hard. Tap's a Crosswater - about 12 yrs old. I've taken it off so it's on the bench. I want to reuse it on another sink as despite its age its in perfect condition (to look at!). It definitely did swivel.
I was trying to free it up the spout arm without taking it apart but I've now had a go at taking the top piece off - same problem. The top piece which houses the cartridge is solid too. If I put PlusGas down that to free it would it destroy the cartridge?

ISTR that Crosswaters came with quite long manufacturer's warranty yours may still be covered.

Is it something like this:

If so, you need to remove the little hot/cold indicator and the grub screw is hidden behind.

Plus Gas (kerosine and mineral oil) is probably a mistake for anything containing 'rubber' seals and O rings. Contact the manufacturer to see if a servicing kit and/or advice is available:
