    Gas Rating App

Thanks, the Baxi still has 2 mins...and your app looks good but it's only on apple....I think I'm stuck back to manual calculations

    Gas Rating App

Unfortunately Gas App UK has started charging for the use of its gas rating app. 12.99 a month which I think is excessive. Does anyone have any links to a decent app please that doesn't cost silly money

Replace testo 327-1 or have it calibrated?

Id say recal at that price....as soon as it needs a full overhaul get rid as it's costs a fortune no matter the brand

Vaillant Sustain 28kw Combi Heat Input

That's what I thought because it would not be a 28kw boiler now days with a gross figure. I was worried I'd got my figures all wrong.....

Vaillant Sustain 28kw Combi Heat Input

Could anyone tell me whether the Vaillant Sustain heat input is noted in gross or net please. I was sure it was NET but someone has said it's gross which makes no sense at all. I work all my gas rates to NET so if I'm wrong my gas rates will be way out. I've included the data badge.

Multi Meter which one for engineers

Just component testing, voltage, resistance and continuity. I can't really afford the Fluke...even though it's one of the better ones

Multi Meter which one for engineers

Can anyone recommend a decent multi meter, preferably under a 100 pounds. It's for checking boiler components so I don't need a top spec one ....just easy to use and reliable. The fluke 115 looks good but its above my budget. My current socket and see one was great but it's developed a fault.

Gas Engineers - charge out rates - West Midlands

I'll do a landlord certificate without service for 75 pounds. If they want it serviced it's price on application as all appliances vary depending on whether I'm required to change seals. I keep a selection of seals but I've noticed my merchant has started selling them in packs of 5 or...

    Question about gas supply

Experience tells me 10mm won't be enough but it depends on the kW and distance the pipe runs. As a general rule it's 15mm up to a hob, but some modern gas ranges require 22mm.

Baxi 600 new version vs the older model

Baxi have changed their 600 and 800 ranges....they look completely different inside and out .....has anyone got an opinion on the new version.

Intergas boiler , vessel and PRV fault

It depends where the vessel is, some models they sit in a jig behind the boiler.... stupid idea but newer models they have moved it to the front... If it's at the back then changing it is an arse and will often need a new flue kit....so by the time you've finished it's a new boiler kind of...

    Intergas Boilers Opinions

What are engineers opinion on Intergas, I've installed a couple of these boilers for people and so far I've been impressed with them. They are a bit clunky and heavy but for the kW you get a lot of hot water and they appear to be pretty reliable. Just want to know what other engineers think of...

Dodgy landlord /house seller not having correct certs

Gas Safe have limited powers and they act on complaints. They have no right of entry and are appointed by the HSE to manage the gas safe register If the tenants were to complain and invite gas safe into the house they may well do an inspection. Failure to provide accommodation to a certain...

    Carbon Monoxide alarm procedures. Certification

It's in the gas safe magazine this month....26(9) checks is what's needed. However, if there is CO and the source can't be confirmed then you need a full CO survey doing. If you call the gas emergency service they will be able to detect the presence of CO in the air but because they can't do...
