guys I am just interested in what would be your plan of attack on this one .

Large house, the home owner inherited this problem so we dont know if its been like this from day one ...
I am incredibly busy and dont even want to do it ..

18 ish rads , 35 kw vokera bag of shi* system boiler . 3 rads furthest away form boiler dont heat up .

No stuck trv pins , open l/s , shutting other rads of doesnt seem to make any difference .

I put a new pump in a fortnight ago , no difference.

As said just interested in where you would start. Go for it lol

Thanks in advance .

Pump too small 25-80 pump needed

Also bet the expansion vessel is too small around 20 l needed

Easy way to tell shut 5 rads do the others heat up ?

Vessel wont make any difference to rads not heating, pump is genuine Vokera , so I dont really want to put another one in , but have no idea what size it is to be fair .

True but find there regularly undersized

Personally, Id start with shutting all rads down but one of the dodgy ones (opened up fully). See then if anything happens and try bleeding to see what emerges. Id then try closing the bypass, if there is one, to try to get it to force its way - turn pump up full pelt and bleed again.

If that doesn't get something through there is def a prob  and you're busy for the next 5 years. If it does something, do same with other two till the crap is distributed.

You will also prob find you'll disturb a load a junk if its not been flushed recently. That then, as you well know, means **** loads more work...

Come on Town. If you need something doing, ask a busy man!!:)

EDIT: Bu66er. Missed the other posts

Fit a cheap low loss header to the boiler and a suitably sized pump,to the rads. Probably getting lots of restriction through the boiler.
Give it a good flush while your on.

Boilers too old mate , not worth the work and expence , think its about 9 ish years . Like most customers hes after a quick fix for this winter , maybe a new one next summer

Not worth getting involved if he wants a quick fix it won't work

Cut a ups2 into the feed for the three rads and stick a 3 pin plug on it.

It really wanted to be sorted in the warm weather.

I'd be tempted to tell him to get three electric heaters and put some time in the diary when you are quieter.

Lol, I am ready to do that when I see him , the 3 rooms are 2 bedrooms ( they dont use either of them ) other room is an office . Him , her and a 4 year old in a huge house . They want to walk round in bleeding T shirts and vests . The youth of today , gaud help us !!!

What’s wrong with that ?:D:D:D

Yep that was my eldest daughter when she was at home , walked round in a vest in January, kept saying she was cold, left lights on , talked to her pal with the back door wide open etc etc etc , now she is a married mum , she now knows why she got moaned at . Shes now me reincarnated lol .

It would be a lot cheaper to use close coupled tee's instead off LLH.
If there is room below the boiler it is easy to do & worth a go!!

based on 1.5kW x 18rads heat load is 27kW = flow rate of 0.3214L/s or 1,157L/h if the boiler is something like a evolve 30 it will have less than 100mbar residual head left for the system.
Hydraulic separation required via CC Tee's or LLH.

The boiler and cylinder are crammed in the corner of a utility, at the moment there is no room anywhere, boiler is around 9 years old (we think )
It wants starting again IMO.
I am back on Fri/Mon and will list rads etc and calc heating load and report back . Cheers

Just tell cust no quick fix with this just tell them my day rate is X amount a day plus materials. If they dont agree then quote 50 k lol

Have you ever tried CC tee's Jon ?
If not this one sounds like a Rubbish or bust chance to try it out if you haven't, although I understand space under / around boiler at a premium.
Should be a days money, new system pump, few fittings, bit of tube and simple wiring mods. I bet it would transform the circulation around the rad's.

Long long time ago Chris , I know how it works and the principal behind it , only thing I wouldn’t be 100% wiring in the other pump with this boiler .
I do agree it should sort it ,but as I said just a few checks to make first .
Then if he goes for it , a load of plasterboard will have to come down and the old washing machine will need a new home .
