Some w/m and d/w supply hoses come with an integral fitting of some kind attached to the hose near the inlet/ w/m tap end of the hose - i dont mean the horseshoe crook to ease entry to the stand pipe.
All Panasonic supplied hoses seem to have this type of arrangement. What is it?

It's the solenoid, There is a filter there too that can be removed to be cleaned

I dont know what it is - i dont have one at hand i've merely seen them. Googling shows the type but, so far, no explanation is forthcoming.

manchester gas, just noticed your post,
where can i see an exploded view of this?

Thank you both for your replies in the meantime.

it's an aquastop valve BSH091058.jpg

To go back a little:
The "fitting" is on the supply hose near the supply tap, it's not on the app. itself.
AW, thank you, The machine pics are of name brands including Panasonic.

JP, thank you too:
that definitely looks like the thing - altho a little bulkier - can you direct me to more mfr's info or details?

Thank you all for your time and knowledge.
Just to re-cap, then the Aqua hose purpose is to give double wall protection, and the outer wall will be a secondary protection against any leakage or bursting of the inner, or primary wall, plus the device near the hose inlet will shut-off the incoming water - or, at least block it.

I'm looking to install my new washing machine. The waste pipe was clipped round the back of the machine during transit. It popped out of some of the clips with ease, but one clip seems sealed. I need the extra length, so ideally need to unclip it from the clip shown in the photos below. Is...
