Hello All / Moderators,

When I had typed a reply on a thread earlier this afternoon and submitted it I saw that there were lines through some of the text of my message.

I have seen this on here before - but how can I remove these lines without having to retype part of my message ?

I also noticed that I could not Edit any part of the text that had these lines through it - I tried to Edit a word but when I submitted the message the Edit was not shown - it was back to the original word.

I mentioned the Edit malfunction only to explain further about the section that has these lines through it.

I did not try deleting the paragraphs that have the lines and retyping because I wanted to ask about this - although perhaps that is the only way ?

The main reason for asking about this is - as some Members may have noticed I sometimes write fairly long messages on here which I would not want to have to rewrite - as I type using only one finger those `long messages` take a lot of time to produce.

My message that has the lines through some text is on this thread:

Washing machine problem

Only ever seen that on one other forum where it can be done by choice.

Did you type it all in one go or go back and edit those bit before posting?

Just posted ^ and then went back to edit and it didn`t happen here.

Hello rpm,

Thanks for replying to me.

I typed the whole message - `Copied` it - re. `Copy & Paste` in case the message did not submit - and then submitted it - the lines appeared.

I am not surprised that this did not happen when You posted a message - it is the first time that it has ever happened to me and I am guessing that most Members don`t get this happening ?

I have seen this same thing on either here or another Forum so I just wondered if someone who this has happened to might read this thread and let me know whether it can be resolved without deleting and retyping ?

That would not be a problem for me to do with my message on the thread about the Washing Machine pipework but as I am sure You may have noticed I write / type some very long replies to threads on here and typing with one finger means that they take quite a lot of time.

It would be those long messages that I would not want to retype which is why I am trying to find out IF the lines can be removed somehow.

I routinely `Copy` my messages in case I have to `Paste` them again if the message does not Submit for some reason - and I did in the case of the other thread - however the lines are also somehow `Copied` [the lines did not show when I was Copying] so that was no help in rectifying the message.

Thanks again for your interest and replies.

Chris

Hello Shaun,

Thanks for the suggestion / link to Lou.

I hope that I have done the right thing:

I could not see how to submit a Private message so I copied a slightly altered version of my original message [ re. `Hello Lou`] which started this thread to the `Start a Conversation` section on Lou`s page.

Was that the correct way to contact Her about this ?

That's the cookie, she should be alone shortly either way so you might get a pm from her
