Any Vokera engineers out there? need some advice please...the boiler wont ignite....unless I block the venturi air inlet. So i've spent ages adjusting the gas valve & still can't get it to ignite. Am I missing something??? is the gas valve fcuked? The boiler is only a few months old.

yep you shouldn't adjust the gas valve

also you cant fiddle with gas appliances unless your gas safe are you ?

as its less than a year old dont even bother fiddling with it get the manufacturers out

I would do but the customer has lost the benchmark and VOKERA dont want to know. Plus I'm interested to know what the problem is

did you analyse the flue?

Lou should be along shortly

I would say he wasn't gas safe reg

Have you checked the meter working pressure?

nope, spoke to Vokera today but as the Benchmark isnt there they are not willing to help....customer has no idea what the installer did with the benchmark

My advice is not to get involved. Advise your customer that they need to get the original installer to sort out the problem and to seek the assistance of Trading Standards / Gas Safe as appropriate. Worst case, they'll need to use the small claims court to recover the cost of reinstalling a new boiler, which you can provide a quote for.

Will Vokera not come out for a warranty visit or just won't come out at all?

The simplest and possibly quickest and cheapest solution would be for the customer to pay Vokera to come out.

They'll also know which supplier they sent the boiler to and that supplier should know who they sold it to unless it was for cash..

You cannot adjust the gas valve without analizing the flue products download the manufacturers instructions there is a detailed fault finding section in there sit down read it throughly follow it step by step you may suprise yourself, call the technical help line they will talk you through resetting the gas valve because if you have adjusted it without a analyser then it will not ignite, there are things to check before touching the gas valve bud , cant give you a quick fix sorry good luck kop.

thanks for the reply, when I arrived on site the boiler wouldnt ignite so I couldnt test the flue products, called Vokera and they helped adjust gas valve to "default" settings which should have allowed the boiler to light ( at which point I would have analysed the flue) but it still wouldnt light
