What did you think of the 400s?

Random question. Is the downward 15mm pipe the gas pipe? Is the Baxi gas connection not supposed to be 22mm?

Normally heat onlys are 15mm but not sure on the 400s

Only a 12kw Harvest
had 20mbar at the boiler with every thing flat out so no worries there was a bit tight but got the clearences asked for so happy days cheers kop

How was the rear flue to fit ? Only done one and that was a pita (wasn't sure it was home)

Every day is a school day, I didn't know that you could get modern condensing boilers without a permanent live or pump overrun, but now i do :) ... how does the boiler deal with latent heat? ... I commissioned a Worcester 27ri on Tuesday that was replacing a Viessmann heat only that was only 4 years old and knackered due to a very poor install... had to run a new 5 core to the boiler for permanent Live and pump control... Baxi 400 would have been an alternative, how long is the warranty please?

Cheers Shaun, any issues repaired under warranty? ... how long have these been on the market?

Yea warrenty ok out under 2 days and at a guess 2-3 years

Cool, certainly gives me food for thought when it comes to replacing an old heat only boiler ;) is the joint in the picture a brazed joint? Or lead weld? ... had to do both on my apprenticeship but haven't touch either since and certainly wouldn't be able to now

Lead weld

Ok shaun it was usefully for this job rear flue was simple enough i did have to compleately brick up the inside and outside before i could hang the boiler wont last 30years thats for sure plastic casing was a bit cheap looking i thought cheers kop

I am generally a decent handyman, can usually make 2+2=4 and take care of most things to avoid troubling experts with just the basics, but know also not to bumble around blindly beyond that. We moved house last week and with the glorious hot weather we weren't bothered about the heating, more...
