Greetings folks. Just signed up for the plumbing side of things as I'm more used to posting with the Sparks.
In the process of buying a project. House is off grid and has some sort of log burning boiler set up - see pic. Anyone familiar with these and are they easy to operate. Moving forward I'm trying to figure out the best off grid heating system to use, whether it be solid fuel, LPG or oil. Anyone have any strong views re pros & cons?

Welcome, would go for wood and have a small woodland to coppice. Or buy in bulk much cheaper.
 
Yes. Would like to make use of about an acre and a half of woodland which is mainly beech that I'd like to thin out.
