salamander twin impellor pump fitted under sink to boost tank fed supply to hot at sink, basin, shower, been in 10yr problem now is that if you open sink or basin tap -pump runs ok
open hot at shower valve, cold at shower and basin pump doesn't switch on,BUT if youopen hot at basin then turn off and open shower or cold basin before pump cuts off the shower h&c and cold at basin runs perfect????????

If it's not starting up then it's not detecting water flow.

I've never fitted one of these but looking around they appear to detect flow not pressure drop, so the most likely fault is the sensors or pcb.

Don't get distracted by the symptoms, the basic fault is sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

thanks for that, new pump it is then

Could be shower inlet filters. Take your shower valve off the wall (if you can) and clean the inlet filters... obviously it's the hot (left side, usually) that's the issue.
If the pump is running fine for your basin tap, the flow restriction is in your shower valve or the filter.

I had few times same issues and it's either the wrong pump or filters inside the shower valve which restricts the flow rate. Basically I'd be looking to get a good plumber out unless your feel confident enough to do it on your own

thanks for help guys, I had checked filters too
all that was required was for to be reset--- switch off for ten seconds, turn on till green light comes on,then switch off for exactly 3seconds,then switch on again and you find pump is working perfect
