Hi all

I have a leak each time the Mira Excel shower valve is used. When I checked under the bath, water is finding its way between the wall and the tiles. Do you think it's the concealed connections in the wall (not sure if compression or soldered) that's leaking or as the silicone all looks ok?

Will it be a case of having the tiles and valve off the wall? The shower valve has to be at least 8 years old I reckon.

Also, there is a leak coming from between the front cap and the body.

Thanks guys

You could pop the cover off the shower and see if the pipework is leaking

As above mate. You saying that, sounds like it may be the concealed shower unit.

Edit due to having a brain fart. This shower is not concealed:rolleyes:. It might be the pipes in the wall, but then it should be leaking all the time not just when the shower is on.

Thanks guys. Photo provided of shower valve etc. I've sealed all the grouting and any gaps around the valve with sealant.

Harvestfields: I agree it should be leaking all the time so will test again tonight with the sealant fully gone off and see what happens.

How do you take the front of the valve off? Can see a screw or anything? Thanks again guys.

Sorry brain fart :D

Can you try and seal around the nuts (the ones that fix to the unit)

Have a look again mate once silicone has set as you have said. Hopefully that has fixed it. Also looks like you have renewed the silicone around the bath. Just a pointer with silicone. More is not always a good thing.;);)

But are we ;)
To be fair mate. I did see a bloke yesterday that was dressed exactly like the men in black but without the sun glasses. He was carrying a black doctors bag. He was quite old. One minute he was stood next to my van by the time I got into the van and looked back up he had vanished. Freaked me the heck out to be honest:eek::eek::eek:
