Hi,How do i change the ceramic disc cartridge on a Hudson Reed tec leverbath shower mixer with swivel spout.tel 354.

1/ order a new one.
2/ check it is what you ordered.
3/ turn water supply off.
4/ remove old cartridge and install new cartridge.
5/ turn water back on and test

Pics recieved.
That's tight in there. If the socket you have is too fat, try taking it to a car parts shop or similar where they sell single sockets and see if you can get a narrower one. If not then either try to contact the manufacturer to see if they can help or replace the taps.

Bloody lousy design that , as JC suggests you need what they call a “deep”socket, if you know a friendly car guy he will have some .

or a box spanner

Hi,Spoke to adviser from Hudson Reed.He told me it's a push fit cartridge just pull it out.I haven't tried it yet waiting for the weekend incase it's a disaster.

But 17mm fits? Try a deep 17mm 6-sided socket or box spanner. 12-sided sockets are quite likely to slip on brass, as they can just round the corners off.

Halfords, amazingly, used to have a fairly decent range of sockets you could buy individually.

Just tried other tap and 18mm fits, looks like other tap is rounded. How do i get out of this one?zThanks.

Can you get a socket similar to the Metrinch brand type, or even a Metrinch socket? Some other decent sockets have a similar system in place. I believe they are also known as knucklesavers.

Hi, instead of trying to find the ceramic discs, would you be interested in maybe changing the tap itself? If so and you can take the bath panel off and have a look at the setup, take some pictures. I'm sure me and the rest of the lads could try and keep you right. At the end of the day, if you know where to turn the water off you can have a shot at it. ÂŁ40 for a set of taps and an afternoon fitting them would spare you the hassle of sourcing parts, just a suggestion :)

I have a plumber coming tomorrow to change a cartridge on a badly dripping tap on my bathroom mixer unit. There is no separate isolating valve for this tap so I'll have to close the stopcock. I tried closing it today but it won't go absolutely 100% closed and there is still a very slight flow...

I have attached an image of the brass body within a tap. Having replaced a cartridge which has cured a leaking tap, I can see that there is a small leak from the brass body which can be unscrewed. Is there a seal behind the body? Thanks.

The fittings below are for a mixer bar attached to a self contained shower. i.e not a wall. The attaching screws have snapped. I could get two new brackets, dismantle that existing one and start again or I could try and re attach via those screws, removing the broken ones from the plate and wall...
