Hi All, looking for some help with an issue with my rads, as a home owner with little experience. Most of the radiators come on normally and work fine but one in particular, in the bathroom, is not heating up. Added to this, my house has a loft conversion done before my time and I believe the pipes upstairs are connected to this bathroom rad, as they are not coming on properly either. There is hot water coming in one pipe (with the TRV) but not coming out the other (with the lockshield). I have tried bleeding and balancing all the rads (as best I could with little experience) with no effect, also tried different TRVs and turning off other rads but didn't work. I am thinking my next option would be to get someone in to flush the whole system but thought I would ask here for any other suggestions, as I've tried to Google but can't find a solution that I haven't tried, thanks.
 
Could it be that both sides are piped to the flow of the central heating, it would allow for a tiny amount of hot water to flow through but would cool quickly in the radiator so you wouldn't detect it on the lockshield side.
 
Thanks Rob for the reply. So could the water cool down that quickly, so it wouldn't be hot at the other side? On occasions the radiator would get lukewarm but never hot and now it's not even getting warm. When it was working properly, it would also take a while to heat up.

Just to add to the above, we recently had our boiler moved to a new location about 3 months ago, so not sure if that has had any effect.

My only other ideas aside from flushing was to get a pump installed to help the flow around the house.

Hi Shaun, thanks for the suggestion, I tried this previously but didn't work. Had hot water coming in one pipe but not out the other side of the rad. However, I have tried this again but did a few other things and now the rads are coming on again. What I did was top up the pressure on the boiler, as it was near to 1, so topped it up to near 2 and I also closed down the bypass slightly (but didn't shut it off completely). For future reference, would you know if it was either of these things that helped?
