I have just moved home and inherited the above boiler which it doesnt seem has been maintained or serviced. So far we have established that the boiler thermostat is not reacting to the boiler temperature. The boiler is heating up very quickly then gets to a high temp or about 72, the rads are extremely hot and then the boiler switches itself off and cools right down as do the rads. Eventually it switches on again and the same cycle continues so my heating is not constant/consistent. So far we have replaced the thermister, 3 way diverter valve and an automatic by pass valve. None of this has solved the problem. Glow worm tech support is non existent. Does anyone have any experience of this issue. No faults numbers are displayed on the boiler at any point.? Any help on this issue would be great.....

Its also now been serviced and flushed through.....

Is there a temp dial on the front of the boiler ?

Who replaced the parts ?

What was the flush like ? Did he say anything was wrong ?

Unusual for Glow-Worm Tec ! mind you they wont give out any information unless you are Gas safe registered .

I have just had the same problem with my Glow-worm Ultracom2 30SXi. Did you manage to get yours fixed? If so, do you know what the problem was?

Still remains unresolved....the Plumber has now switched off what he calls the "pre-heat" and it has helped a little ie. it is staying on a little longer but other than that it is still red hot and then cools down....its gonna be a long cold winter!! If you resolve your problem please let me know how you did it I would appreciate it greatly?

If its overheating could be a circulation problem, Pump may Be
Thank you for that.... my problem is everything is a maybe.... and I don't want to end throwing good money after bad. 3 parts already replaced to no avail although it is performing a little better the problem still remains....:-(

True a lot of maybe's but we are not in front of boiler and only speaking of past similar problems , Poor circulation = Pump, Blockage, dirty system . undersized pipe work, or what you have done temperature sensor's

Ok, will let you know if I have any luck with my plumber. The following day, it worked a lot better, but again a similar problem tonight. It's not so noticeable though as the outside temperature is warmer.

Just wondered what your plumber did to make it work a bit better the next day - do you know - you never know it maybe something mine hasn't done or thought of ? Thanks

Not knowing the size and layout of your system i would consider fitting a room stat. It may be the boiler is cycling on its own stat which operates just on the water temp.
There could be other factors affecting the operation but fitting a room stat should help
