Hello, I am at a loss as to how to open this kitchen mixer. Both hot and cold sides are dripping. Well, one is dripping and one is running at full flow.

I have removed the nut under the H and the C. There are no more nuts to be seen but I just cannot remove the tap. Have you any advice?

Pics attached.

Thanks.

Might be just seized on.
First check there isn't grub screws in the sides of the handles that might be holding the handles on to the works, but I think unlikely.
Then maybe a spray of oil in ends and gently hit the handles with a rubber mallet or rubber shaft of a hammer to try to ease them off. Sometimes needs a lot of patience as can take ages

I forgot to mention that a lot of the taps now have handles made of a cheap alloy and it will corrode and seize onto the brass works.

Thanks so much for a quick reply. The units is only a key 2.5 years old so I’d be surprised if it had corroded. I also can’t find any more nuts except on the back of the faucet neck. So, I’ll try some lubrucicant and a little force!

Tapping the levers gently with a rubber mallet is usually eventually effective. If you used flat blade screwdrivers to lever the handles at the gap between handle and the tap body, it might also work, but risks damaging the chrome.
Even in a couple years the handles can seize on - especially if alloy handles. I often put silicone grease on handles on brand new taps to hopefully stop that happening

If that tap has grub screws in the handles, then definitely don't try using a rubber mallet. :)
I did mention to check for grub screws.

Thanks again. It does look like the Franke Eiger but there are some subtle differences. On mine, the screw is definitely under the H and C caps (but not on the Eiger). I cannot find any others.

I will try some WD40 later and a few taps with a soft implement! I’ll let you know how I get on.

Thanks.
