Guys I registered for boiler cover with BG guy came out today but it’s not on System for parts I got it installed 7 months ago it’s a Ariston Clas HE evo 30 but the guy did say he thinks it’s due to it being a new model boiler and parts not released yet they can get some but some for special order at the moment, is there a possibility if it being too new it has a 5 year warranty just now anyway but the wife wanted peace of mjnd having cover just wasn’t sure if the too new was just a excuse or if it’s possible

Hi it was my wife wanted it for peace of mind the last boiler we had was terrible halstead I heat n broke down all the time to be fair I think it was £300-400 n BG didn’t cover it due to it being so poor I’m now wondering if that’s the same with this or is it a case of it’s just new model so ariston haven’t released all parts yet he said it doesn’t say there are no parts but some need special order fir now n may take week etc to come and that’s why they won’t offer a service etc you think I should just go with MF warranty n get it serviced yearly to maintain warranty? I’ve never dealt with ariston so not sure how reliable they are at coming out etc? It’s still got at least 4.5 years warranty left

I know ariston in some cases aren’t the best but at time didn’t have cash for Bosch so went with mid range I guess the last boiler has dented our confidence altho as much as it broke down in 5 years I only spent about £300 parts n labour so I supppse still cheaper than the cover

I depart my question from your earlier postings:

Are you mad?

If you only paid £300 P AND L over 5 years, what are you paying practically that per year when it is covered anyway?

But she will have piece of mind knowing that arison will have to call out and fix any breakdowns for the next 5 years parts and labour FREE of charge???
Anyone who has been married a while will understand that '...my wife wanted it for peace of mind...' is a very compelling reason for doing things that are otherwise difficult to explain.
:)

Totally agree I think the problem is the halstead boiler we had was soooooooo bad n then a few people have said ariston aren’t great not the worst either but not great then the confidence of the reliability is mibby a bit iffy and when BG said today they couldn’t cover it I think as may be too new for parts had her thinking is this another duffer I think that model has been on market for 3 years or so n find it strange they can’t get all parts yet I called ariston n they said they have all parts and will have for years to come or wouldn’t offer up to a 12 year warranty

Dont waste your money stick with the manufacturers warranty Personally i wouldn't give BG a penny bunch of crooks , after 5 years Ariston may even offer the choice to extend this , the boiler must be serviced each year and documented to keep the warranty valid . cheers kop.

Have been fitting this model boiler for about 5 years, no problems, it comes with 8 year warranty and the option to extend to 12 years,

Hello, We’ve recently moved into a fairly old, fairly big detached house (i.e. fairly draughty, but not too bad by any means) with a fairly new well maintained Worcester combi boiler. We weren’t convinced the heating was working right and then got hit with a £610 energy bill for the first 6...
