If you looking for a tool to drill through joists I used one of these recently on a house I 1st fixed... 51mm TCT holesaw, very fast & very easy to remove cut timber.
Used the arbor from my bi-metal holesaw kit.
(As you know there's rule & regs as to cutting/drilling joists so keep within those parameters)

Yep esp with a hole haug or angled drill its ace

No normally use an angled but I've used a chippys one last month and it's tipped me over to I need one so much better nice low toque etc
 
There's different ways of considering the cost...

If you plumbed say, 3 new houses a year (when you have to drill dozen's of holes overhead through the joists) that's only £147 per house, and think what other job's it would be handy on!!

Most plumbers/heating engineers must be charging/making £240/day (some a lot more), that's only 2 days labour to cover the cost, besides no more pain of your knuckles/hand smashing off the joist when the cordless drill snags... ouch I've done it again! :oops::mad:
 
I've never drilled a hole through a joist that big so I checked and found it is permissible for a 2oomm (8 inch) joist. I learned something new today!

UK Can't get stopcock 100% closed to allow a tap repair

Mixer bar fitting solutions?
The fittings below are for a mixer bar attached to a self contained shower. i.e not a wall. The attaching screws have snapped. I could get two new brackets, dismantle that existing one and start again or I could try and re attach via those screws, removing the broken ones from the plate and wall...
