Do any of you guys use this type of reducer?
It doesn’t have an olive and the bottom part of the brass compresses onto the pipe by the looks of it and the top is removable.
I haven’t used them before tbh.
I can only seem to find the 3 part versions by me.
Our house was built in 2007 and we are the second family to live here - moving in in 2017. The central heating has been working fine - although the gas boiler is perhaps nearing the end of its life. But the boiler is not our current issue.
Last winter two of the radiators did not heat up and...
Looking to see what iron pipe part can fit a 10mm ball joint? In this pic there is a part that connects the ball joint (or whatever they are called) to the 1/2 inch pipe. I am looking to connect to a 3/4 inch pipe. Are there any threads that do this? Thanks
I have been told that in North...
I have Honeywell Valencia TRVs 10mm pipe size, I’m making mods to accommodate larger rads and it looks like the 10mm compression insert is special to Honeywell as all available inserts are 15mm to 10mm which do not fit as the compression nut has a 10mm hole, not a 15mm.
Anyone know if you can...
Home central heating in 10mm plastic then via a push fit connector to 10mm copper feeding the radiator.
Is it possible to get the copper pipe out of the fitting or is the coupling a one time use design.
I am told I need to replace my boiler. I am considering a system boiler so I can lose the tank in the loft and feed it direct from the mains water. My rads are fed by 10mm plastic pipe. Is there much of a pressure increase with a system boiler and will the plastic pipe joints (e.g. John Guest...
Hi I have conected a small rad with 15mm pipe fed from 10mm system there is no air in the read water is coming out no bubbles but rad don't get warm the rad its conected to dos get hot the 15mm pipes have to go up and over a small door and back down to the new rad what am I doing rong please
Divy here thought his cold water feed was 15mm.. so bought a 15mm - 1/4" reducing tee to plumb a fridge.
It's 10mm!! I've already cut it so stuck a stop end on.
What options do I have as I can't find a 10mm - 1/4" reducing tee...
Do I get some 15mm pipe and use 15mm - 10mm reducers ?
So been trying to search this for some time and finding mixed results, I have 10mm JD Speed fit piping coming out the wall and hoping to use it on the original TRVs, things that keep popping up are
these JG stem reducers, but doesn't seem right that the value would go onto the end? wouldn't...
Hello, I'm relatively new to plumbing had a career change at the start of lockdown and worked with a plumber for a month and now I'm tackling stuff alone and sort of learning from my mistakes.
Today, I'm fitting a new TRV and lockshield onto microbore using a 10mm to 15mm adapter, I cut the old...
Hi Guys,
Seeking advice. I have a Triton Combi HP (8000/9000) mixer shower, which is giving thermostatic and cross flow issues. I can confirm cold back flowing into hot, because the hot feed is ice cold. I have 3 of these identical showers, and the hots are much warmer than the colds on the...
Been in the garage having a practise with 3-part compression reducers on 10mm Speedfit pipe and it hasn’t gone particularly well and i wonder what i am doing wrong?
I found that the olive (swapped a copper one for the brass one due to plastic pipe) and bottom part that pokes out of the nut were...
Hello, I need to replace a radiator and want to change the current 10mm pipe in to the radiator with 15mm pipe. I have access under the floor so no problem to change the 10mm that comes off the 15mm hot water feed. If I change just one radiator to 15mm and leave the rest of the radiators as they...
Hi,
I need to remove a radiator fed by 10mm plastic barrier pipe, in a pressurised central heating system. I can get under the floor to the pipes.
Is it OK to freeze the pipe so that it can be capped, so that I don’t have to drain down?
Thanks.

I am replacing a standard rad with a towel rail in the en-suite and the existing pipes are 10mm Speedfit and not easy to change. The wall is standard breezeblock with plasterboard over the top. I am considering how best to re-align pipework for the new rail and would appreciate advice.
One easy...
I'm trying to put in a new rad. But the rad sits about 10mm further from the wall than the old pipes come out of the ground.
I've tried taking away a bit of tile to push the pipes back but they are locked in place.
What I probably need is a copper pipe with a very small, 10mm, bend in it...
why is 10mm pipe not used for taps/toilet outlets?
Why do I need the same diam pipe at the wash basin or toilet as I do at the bath or shower?
I can't think of a reason why not so before I implement this, have I missed something that's not so obvious to a layman?
