boost
Boost is a set of libraries for the C++ programming language that provides support for tasks and structures such as linear algebra, pseudorandom number generation, multithreading, image processing, regular expressions, and unit testing. It contains 164 individual libraries (as of version 1.76).All of the Boost libraries are licensed under the Boost Software License, designed to allow Boost to be used with both free and proprietary software projects. Many of Boost's founders are on the C++ standards committee, and several Boost libraries have been accepted for incorporation into the C++ Technical Report 1, the C++11 standard (e.g. smart pointers, thread, regex, random, ratio, tuple) and the C++17 standard (e.g. filesystem, any, optional, variant, string_view).
Background
I have a small one-bedroom flat in the roof space in a victorian house. There are three floors below and each floor has a single one-bedroom flat. The mains pipe bringing water into my top-floor flat is 15mm copper pipe. There is a water meter in the flat and a stop valve.
There is...
My Duraspeed pump has started to make a strange noise when water is drawn but I can't see where to add a video. It was already installed when we moved in last year and may have given up the ghost after battling with an air lock in the system? Any help would be gratefully received.
Hi all,
Got a customer who wants an unvented cylinder fitting, they have low flow rate so looking for opinions on best mains boost solution - had a quick look and in order to get anywhere near 18l min will need an accumulator and pump combo.
Expect the answer is the bigger the better, as always...
We have 2 separately metered water supplies entering our property and these feed 2 sets of outside (garden) taps. Can we join together the supplies coming from the meters, put the water through a (domestic) booster pump, then split the output to feed the outside tap systems?

Hi folks,
I have a couple of Aqualisa Opto digital showers in the house that have always been pretty lame when compared to power showers that I've encountered in hotels.
They are both concealed with the digital units in the loft, the house system is mains pressure cold into a megaflow for the...
Fitted another cylinder this week and wired to economy 7.
Boost worked fine but then didnt keep the cylinder hot once the boost water was used up.
Couldnt see a timer as was just on and off switches.
Sounds a bit odd as worked on boost when tested ,
I don't want to have just electric heated water, when using a lot it makes sense to take it from the 30 gallon hot water tank, however in the kitchen the amount of water I need to run is silly, so I looked at an under sink heater with idea of feeding it with hot water so I can select if heated...
Hi, I live in a 4th floor flat, with 2 recently refurbished showers and a combi boiler. The pressure in the showers was poor, so after getting some reassurances that a gravity fed pump was still ok for my flat, I had a gravity fed salamander pump installed, but after a few weeks of it working...
Hi,
Our shower only gives out hot water. The volume control works fine but the temp control turns fully both ways without any cooling effect. A plumber has tested and said that cold water is reaching the mixer ok,( the separate bath mixer tap below works fine with hot and cold ). The plumber...
Hi All
I have recently had an issue with my trevi boost shower, basically i have a very limited flow of water which does get hot but only trickles from the shower head. I removed the boost cartridge which seems like a sealed unit and placed it back in position. If i now switch it on i get no...
Hi All
Hope you have some advice to see if I can cure 2 minor problems as the Valiant tech line was to say a waste of time as the 2nd tech advisor I spoke to was only there to answer the phone I think..
I have recently installed a new heating system all installed in the attic all works as...
I am not a gas engineer or domestic electrician, but have electrical experience so should understand the answers.

A customer of mine has recently had trouble with a Stuart Turner Monsoon twin positive 3 bar pump. After going backwards and forwards with pump assist and a few parts later I finally got the pump working again. Now every now and it won't turn off. After a few attempts I finally got in touch with...
Hi, I've been speced a 45oltr TWS Mains Boost Plus for a client based on a 250lt unvented cylinder and 4 bathroom, 4 storey residential property.
Has anyone got any experience or reviews on this system and how effective, any problems e.t.c?
Any thoughts would be really appreciated?
Thanks
James
As part of an upcoming bathroom job my customer has bought a Stuart Turner monsoon 2.0 bar single pump to boost the gravity hot for the taps.I've fitted loads of shower pumps but never one for taps, I've downloaded the instructions and on one of the diagrams it more or less shows the pump fitted...
I may need to replace a built-in Trevi Boost shower, but I gather that the Trevi Boost has now been discontinued.
I would prefer a similar replacement (doesn't have to a venturi: thermostatic would do). Specifically, I'd like to be able to re-use the same “holes” as for the built-in Trevi boost...
