Elite Dangerous is a space flight simulation game developed and published by Frontier Developments. The player takes the role of a pilot (colloquially referred to as "Commander" or "CMDR") of a spaceship, and explores a realistic 1:1 scale open-world representation of the Milky Way galaxy, with the gameplay being open-ended. The game is the first in the series to attempt massively multiplayer gameplay, with players' actions affecting the narrative story of the game's persistent universe, while also retaining a single-player mode. Elite Dangerous is the fourth game in the Elite video game series, one of the longest-running video game franchises. It is the sequel to Frontier: First Encounters, released in 1995.
Having been unable to agree to a funding deal with a publisher for many years, Frontier began its Kickstarter campaign in November 2012. Pre-release test versions of the game had been available to backers since December 2013, and the final game was released for Windows in December 2014, with the macOS version later released in May 2015. A "preview" version of the game for Xbox One was later released via the Xbox Game Preview Program in June 2015 during Microsoft's briefing at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2015, and was fully released in October 2015, while a PlayStation 4 version was released on 27 June 2017. Elite Dangerous additionally supports all PC virtual reality devices.Elite Dangerous Odyssey, which adds first-person shooter play on planetary surfaces and inside bases to the game, does not support virtual reality. Instead, the on foot player traverses these environments while wearing VR goggles with absolutely no depth perception, which is normally provided by a virtual reality experience. This effectively limits the player to viewing the environment through a 'static rectangular window', much like carrying around a large 'viewing monitor' directly in front of the field of view. By the end of April 2015, Elite Dangerous had sold over 500,000 copies, with Frontier Developments expected to generate £22 million from sales. As of 15 January 2019, ***ulative sales of Elite Dangerous exceeded 4.3 million franchise units, composed of 3 million base game units and 1.3 million Horizons expansion units. In April 2020 the sales of Elite Dangerous base game units had passed 3.5 million. During an interview published on 23 October 2020, Frontier CFO Alex Bevis announced that Elite Dangerous had generated more than £100 million of revenue.

How dangerous is air testing pipework

I've air tested pipework for years, typically 4 bar for 30 minutes. I've never had an issue with any pipework that has passed that test, occasionally you get a small leak from the air test typically old cap ends/scratched pipe which shows up easily on the test without having to inspect anything...

Is this copper soldering just ugly, problematic, or dangerous?

Two pictures from a gas boiler install - is this dangerous, or just embarrassingly poor workmanship. What are the medium term implications of the joins like this? Do I need to get another plumber in to review and fix this? It is just shoddy but acceptable? Regards, Paul McGinnie

    Dangerous Plaque Heater

We have a situation on our allotment where we have a large propane tank (free standing) inside a portacabin (not chained) connected to a plaque heater (outdated flexible hose) which is laid on its back (on the carpet) to serve as a burner to boil water for tea and to heat the portacabin. What...

Does this water tank look dangerous?

We are tenants. A neighbour came to report an overflow pipe pouring out onto people. I was trying to stop it when I found the water tanks. The water tank has no lid and is covered in mould. Is this vent pipe location dangerous?

I live on the second floor of a six story building and the basement flat directly below me at the back of the building has a small courtyard that is walled in on all sides. So essentially it's like a high, two story walled well. On the other side of one wall is a heating/hot water boiler of...

    Flue marked as Dangerous?

Hi, I've just had my combi boiler marked as at risk / possibly dangerous due to some small "Thumbnail size" corrosion / oxidation of the end of the flue pipe, which I guess is due to years of condensation sitting at the end of the pipe. I appreciate that a damaged flue could let exhaust...

    Is this residual water dangerous?

Could damp walls resulting from a pretty serious leak be dangerous to the flat below mine later? Let me explain: 3 weeks ago a leak was identified in my flat. The water was gushing out of a pipe in the water cylinder cupboard pretty seriously, and we’ve no idea how long it had been like that...

Is multi fuel stove without vent dangerous

My stove has been plumbed up to a thermal store without a vent. The plumber originally had one and the system didn't work by gravity so when he put the pump on to circulate the water it must have pumped out the vent and he just cut it off and blocked it. I got another plumber to look at it who...

Hi everyone An engineer has just left my property. He's disconnected the boiler as the last engineer didn't fit a 'flume test cap' and considers it too dangerous to continue using until this part is fitted. My question is this: exactly how dangerous is it to have not refitted this part? I...
