Has anyone been called upon to fit a Duravit Styrofoam Bath Box or similar?

I've got to fit one of these on clients instructions. He's German and apparently thats how they do it over there but I think its gonna cause problems due to lack of rigidity and stability once the tiles are on. Anyone had any experience with these?
