Sounds simple but I have already had a withdrawal. I live in Hull. The bathroom floor is very thick concrete because I live above a set of garages. Interested?
I've got an issue with the shower tray not being totally flat. As you can see from the photos, it is about 7mm out at one side. It's leaning towards the waste end though. The shower tray is pushed underneath the tiles.
My mate did the tiling and I now realise that we should have put the shower...
Hi,
I am trying to clean out my Merlyn Truestone slate shower tray waste unit. I cannot see anyway to remove it to clean underneath.
I'm stuck trying to fish out debris which isn't working great.
Could anyone please advise if I can remove this or a better way to clean the debris?
Thanks
Hi all.
Sometime ago I removed our old 1200x800 shower tray and replaced with a Stone resin one. The stone resin tray was much, much heavier than the old one. At the time I didn't give much thought to it, but now I'm wondering which type of tray it would have been.
Other than it weighed no more...
Is this new shower tray defective and would you install it in this condition? The void where the wax deposits were (last photo) is between 4m-6mm deep.
TIA.
Void under shower former
My recently installed solid resin shower tray / wet room former has around 4mm flex across a dinner plate sized area in the middle. It's on a concrete base that was unevenly screeded over. The gap will likely be under 10mm. It has not yet been tanked or tiled but would...
Hi all
I have two hairline cracks around shower tray plug waste hole.
Is this a concern ? I.e let water in etc through crack ? And any fixes or do I need a new tray?
I also have suspicions that the tray was fitted without a cement or mortar bed underneath to support the tray and this is...
Hi all,
Would welcome your thoughts on this.
I'm installing a low level shower tray, over a timber floor. Cast iron soil stack only about a metre away. So far so good. The problem is that the existing 1 1/2 copper connection into the stack (previously serving bath) enters the stack at a low...
Hi folks,
Might be a stupid question but I currently have a wet room shower in place with a waste trap but I am looking to convert to a shower tray with raiser kit.
Is there an easy way to connect shower waste from tray to wet room trap using an adapter of sorts? I am trying to avoid ripping...
Hi all,
I’ve just noted this dent in my shower tray. I think it’s stone resin I’m not too concerned about the aesthetic but worried it may cause a leak and go onto the ceiling on the ground floor (as the shower is on the 1st floor)
I know there are loads of repair kits out there and I’m...
I am currently doing a new build requiring 2 shower trays to use as walk in showers. The tray I currently have does not appear to have angled rims around the edges so water constantly pools at the sealant and doesn't run into the tray and drain. Can anyone recommend d a tray that does have...
Hi
I need to find out if I can drill a larger hole in my shower tray, it’s size atm is 1 1/2 inches (38.9mm) and I want to make it 90mm to increase water removal flow
Is this possible
We have just had our second Mira shower tray 1700 x 900 fitted the last one cracked and my replaced.
my husband was having a shower today. He heard a very loud crack and felt it nothing visible. It’s similar to when you would have been walking on a ice like when you hear a crack, and it makes...
Hi,
We recently had our shower tray replaced, however for some reason when I step on it it squeaks. I'll add a link to a video in which I am in the middle of the tray just shifting my weight from one leg to the other. Is this normal? Should I get back to the contractor with any specific...
Hi, I am looking to install a Mira flight shower tray 760 by 760. I would have like to have removed the existing floorboards and installed battens and 18mm ply level with the joists. However, there is a stud wall running parallel to the joists sitting on top of the floorboards preventing me from...
Hi guys, new to this forum, was looking for advice regarding a mira flight shower tray i've just installed [diy]. After installing it, and then taking a shower, i noticed that the water was collecting at the edges and not dispersing away after a period of time.
Now this tray was a replacement...
Tray is stone cast resin low profile, 1200 by 900. Suspended floor is receiving all new 18mm P5 chipboard floorboards.
There is plenty of talk of replacing floorboards under the tray with marine ply. Is this advice assuming the bathroom still has old style floorboards and that new P5 chipboard...
Hi there,
I'll soon be installing a SONAS 1500 X 800 resin shower tray in a bathroom that I am renovating. It does not come with any sealant or tape.
The shower tray will be against an external concrete wall which I will insulate and put some Hardie Backer Board on.
My question is, does the...
Hi guys
Just looking for advice on how to make the installation of a 1200x800 stone resin tray easier.
I'm fitting a tray into a space with three walls, so obviously space is minimum.
The last time I did this I rigged up a pulley from the ceiling joists to raise and lower the tray into position...
Just removed this shower tray.
What type of shower tray is this?
Why aren't all shower trays constructed like this?
It must weight less than 10kg and with the flat base, must be a doddle to set in place.
