Hi,
Non-professional / knowledgeable person here.
I'm a Brit in Romania who volunteers for a charity building an old peoples home for needy old people. Out here competence and integrity is harder to come by in a worker, in fact it's hard to find workers at all where we are in the countryside...
Hi,
I'm trying to connect 3/4" copper to 22mm copper in an old house. However it appears that the 3/4" is actually slightly smaller (measured at 21.1mm) than it normally is. This means I've been unable to use the special 3/4 to 22mm compression fittings as the olive is just too loose...
I've got an inset fire which is slightly too big for the opening - the seals can't press against the front.
How can I reduce the opening by a couple of cm either side? I think just mortar/fire cement won't be strong enough as the seals will be pressing against it. The mortar may crack too...
Grundfos advertises their Alpha 1 & 2 pumps (I'm not sure if they just call both versions Alpha now); that it will replace 30 other pump models.
I've been using a UP15-29SU for many years. I'm using it to circulate water for our domestic hot water that uses a 3/4" copper pipe which goes down...

Hi, can anyone advise on where to get a replacement smaller unslotted waste for an old cast iron bath please? The existing waste appears to be 1 1/4 BSP, not 1 1/2 as you'd expect. I'm including some photos of the existing installed bath waste next to a new 1 1/2 BSP waste to show the...
Im fitting a new toilet but my waste pipe in the wall is smaller than extendable trap behind toilet! so it doesn't fit inside the external waste pipe. What can I do?
Hi got a waste water broke from upstairs sink . 32 m to big its on outside house to drain . Can't find any smaller pipes anywere to fit to connection cheers
Hi all, just looking at pipework for a new en suite sink, its slightly smaller then 1 1/4 so I assume I need an adapter of sorts?
I was just about to put the waste pipe in but want to check before proceeding.
I'll try and attach a pic.
Hello all.
We will likely have to move soon so we can find a new home which has room to have a separate annexe built for mum in law. As it'll be out in the sticks, the fuel supply will most likely be oil.
A few questions on this, please:
1) Do they make small oil boilers - ideally combi types...
What is the reason they give a minimum recommended room size? Are there any dangers involved in putting in a room that's smaller than recommended?

I have an old type 21 (600 mm by 1400 mm) that is against a wall I'd like to put furniture against, so I'd like to move it. There is no room to just move it along the wall so I was thinking of replacing it with two smaller ones on either side of the adjacent corner of the room. I guess the old...
Hi,
I bought four new digital thermostats (Komforthaus N Pro+) without considering that they may not not fit. They have M30 x 1.5 mm connections, whereas my radiators have... something else. I'm not sure what, but the old thermostats are 'Concerto 5'.
I'm wondering if there's anything I can do...

I own a two bedroom holiday let wooden lodge. The bathroom has a very strange two third length bath with a step in it and an overhead Mira Sport power shower. There is a large 115 litre hot water cylinder with two immersion heater elements (one is for "boost" purposes) in a cupboard serving the...
Went to an emergency call out today at a hair salon that has a load of foreign basins and traps are all leaking. I need to change them out but my problem is that the waste shank is slightly smaller than inch and 1/4 - like almost fits.
Anyone know any other sizes it could possibly be or suggest...
As above i have a customer who wants to convert from one meter supplying six flats to six separate flats. As i understand it this is done by the energy provider. Any other options?
Their provider is extra energy. Spent two lots of 45 mins trying to get through to them and no joy so far. Grrrr...
The main cast iron soil stack runs up the wall with a single T that goes off to the toilet, the pipe then goes through the garage roof and vents about a meter above the roof line.
The bath and sink waste go to a smaller separate soil pipe which is about the same size as the rain water downpipe...
