    Multiple P traps design

Terrible diagram. But can I set up a bathroom like this. I’ll be getting a plumber to do it but before I call the plumber I’d like to know my options as I’ll be building the walls etc… I can’t have p trap directly under shower drain due to lack of room. So it runs 60cm to external wall with p...

Do bottle traps need an air vent?

Hi everyone, I am planning to renovate my small en-suite and to replace the current standard basin with a counter basin. I have some doubts regarding the trap, I didn't have the chance to remove the basin yet (it's full of sealant) but from what I can see from the camera of my phone, current...

Heads up on dry condensation traps boys.

Just left a job literally, tenant contacted landlord with smell of gas. Tightness okay, gas sniffer didn’t pick up anything either. I got out the analyser and 50ppm in airing cupboard, tenant had rammed a ton of junk in the cupboard and dislodged the condensate pipe. The trap was bone dry....she...

Bath to shower waste and siphon danger?

2 things please if I may: Trying to work out wastes for a bathroom fit. Shower will have a 40mm pipe run just under 3m into hopper. Considering teeing or angling a bath waste into this on the distal half. Would the bath definitely, maybe or not be likely to siphon the shower trap? Wondering how...

Question about multiple bottle traps in series - not commercial use

Hi, I have a question about the implications of running multiple bottle traps in series - say for example 6 bottle traps between a sink and drain, what would I need to do to make this work (will be used on an isolated system for experimentation) I understand that without venting in between the...

Shallow sink and washing machine traps

I am fitting a built in washing machine in the utility room, and all was going well until it came to the washing machine trap. I've used standard washing machine traps before, however, there are a couple of 22mm copper pipes that run horizontally across the wall, which are flow and return for an...

Do Floplast Anti-Vac Bottle Traps Work?

I have bought one of these traps but there is no visible air admittance valve. Inside there is a narrow tube with one end in the water inside the trap and the other end going up to I'm not sure where. I cannot figure out how this is even meant to work.

    Chrome 1 1/4" trap

To save me looking, does anyone know if you can get a chromed brass 1 1/4" bottle trap that fits standard 1 1/4" waste pipe (not the smaller chrome plated brass/copper waste)? I know mcalpine do the plastic chrome bottle traps but they look a bit naff. Im trying to avoid using a mcalpine...

    Overflow Pipe indoors

Hi, I've recently purchased a new property and need to replace the hot water system. The property only has electric and for simplicity I'm thinking of fitting a vented, direct water cylinder. The overflow pipe on the current system comes through the bathroom wall and terminates just above the...

Am I getting my traps mixed up

Customer has just had a new bathroom fitted. Basin waste runs directly into an unvented soil stack. As a consequence as the basin drains it makes an awful gurgling sound. I have done away with the bottle trap that bathroom installer used and fitted an anti vac pedestal trap. When I left all...

    Fulidmaster Pro series Traps

Not impressed at all! Thought they would be Mcalpine quality but are worse than Polypipe traps. To be fair the adjustable trap I fitted didn't leak but it was poorly made and the nut jumped off its thread with very little pressure hand tight. Plumbing Supply | Flush Toilet | Wax and Wax-Free...
