Can motorised valves go under floorboards (legally)?

Hi guys and gals, I'm looking to try to change from a Y-plan to an S-plan-plus this year to have a heated bathroom. While the house isn't that large, a mixture of south-facing brick and north-facing (and Jerry-built) timber frame construction means no single thermostat will cut the muster...

Supporting pipes under floorboards + insulation

Hi, How do I support with clips pipes run under a floating timber ground floor? The joists are too small to notch or drill into and in any case, there's plenty of space underneath. Where do you place the pipe clips if running perpendicular to the joists? And if plastic pipes, this means lots of...

    Water Leak

Hi all, first poster here. Here is my problem. I recently fitted a new bath and have since developed a water leak. It comes down the wall from the bathroom, and may be following the pipework. It only occurs when the taps are open, and does not occur at all times. It can be days before it starts...

    Hard to see....

Hi all! I've been trying to find the cause of various leaks in plasterboard ceilings (new build property) and am fed up with cutting numerous holes everywhere to find the cause of the problem. I remember being on a site a while ago where another plumber was using a handheld video inspection...

    Blocked Condensate Pipe

In early December our condensate pipe got blocked. At first we thought it was to do with the freezing temperatures but now the weather has improved and the pipe remains blocked. I had to resort to buying a hose to attach to the back of the boiler and the condensating water is draining into a...
