worried
Worry refers to the thoughts, images, emotions, and actions of a negative nature in a repetitive, uncontrollable manner that results from a proactive cognitive risk analysis made to avoid or solve anticipated potential threats and their potential consequences.
I needed to replace the braided water pipe for the hot tap as I was putting everything back together; I placed the female end into the copper pipe and before tightening the nut below it, I thought I'd add some WD40 into the nut just to make it easier to tighten.
I then realised, given it's a...
I have just had 2 new vented hot water cylinders installed by a plumber (not yet finished) however I am a little concerned as the pipes are not attached to anything, the empty tank on the left wobbles a little on uneven floor and is slightly on the wonk. The plumber is really great but this was...

Hi everyone,
Just looking for some advice/reassurance. My boiler had its second annual service today and the (gas safe) engineer recorded a 0.5mb drop on the tightness test. He assured my partner that this was nothing to worry about but as I wasn't home at the time I just wanted reassurance...
Hi all,

I know its isolated to hot water because only the hot...

while removing some timber/wood that was connected to the wall where the boiler was located before it was moved, this stuff came from behind it or in the wall, now to me it doesnt look like asbestos, but im a right in saying it could contain asbestos? it feels soft and is very easy to break.
So I was driving out of the city minding my own business, with cars in front and behind me (I drive really slow) when a stupid yellow box flashed in front of me. I was doing at best 35 and I knew it was a 40 limit.
I saw a 40 sign straight after so what was the flash all about? Was it for me...
Got a phone call from one of the letting agents I work for today saying that one of their landlords has complained about the gas safety i carried out. Landlord reckons he got his own engineer out to fix a problem and this other engineer has basically condemned the boiler saying it is unsafe...

Hi all, im sure there are other folk in the same boat as me just now. So as we are well aware, OLCI have now ceased to be and ERR Ltd have stepped up to look after our training needs, or have they?. I was doing the Gas Engineer course with OLCI in Livingston and was half way through it when...

Hiya,
I used WD40 on the packing gland of a stop tap the other day (to help free it up - which it did). My customer was concerned the WD40 could work its way through the tap and into her drinking water.
I tried to explain that WD40 is routinely used to unstick taps, and is fine on tap...
