Hi, grateful for any advice

I need to connect a dishwasher waste water outflow pipe 25mm to 50mm waste pipe.

Is there a joining piece anyone can recommend? Maybe with some appropriate tape.

The waste pipe is in the wall but was trimmed at some point (unnecessarily) to only 10mm extruding from the wall. The last join was faulty leading to a trickle of water and damage to the wall.

Apologies for the grim photo.

Any ideas on this gratefully received.

Would it be a hoop? In combination with some kind of specialist plumbers tape?

If the pipe needs re-installing am willing to get it done properly.

Are you sure it goes to drainage as you would get smells if it was and being left open suggests it’s not drainage?

It's outflow, possibly just to a grill outside like a drain joined to same as garden tap

But as you going to use it for a dishwasher waste you need a fowl drain connection and not basically a soak away

Thanks for answering, Shaun. I don't know for certain - do you need to know this to answer the other question about the type of pipe connector suitable?

Yes as you could contaminate ground water etc if it just goes into the ground

Okay well I'm not an expert but we lived there for some time and it was all fine - it seems like the pipe goes through the wall then down to the collective pipes to the main drain - not the ground. I hope that satisfies your waste water question.

Directing our attention to the original question - assuming the outflow is ending up in the right place - what is the connect plumbing piece to connect a 25mm outflow pipe with a 45/50mm (not sure) waste water pipe?

I want to reconnect some outbuildings to an existing water supply. The supply pipe is old 22mm MDPE and buried for a fair distance so not going to dig it up and replace it 😬. Question is can I use normal 22mm plumbing push-fit connectors to make the connection as finding 22mm MDPE fittings...

Hi, basic question, any insight much appreciated. Looking to have an outdoor tap in my front porch fed from 15mm pex coming up from suspended floor. Pic 1 is inside porch, pex temporarily clipped to give an idea of pipe placement (ignore shoddy blockwork of booted cowboy builder!), Pic 2 is...

The fittings below are for a mixer bar attached to a self contained shower. i.e not a wall. The attaching screws have snapped. I could get two new brackets, dismantle that existing one and start again or I could try and re attach via those screws, removing the broken ones from the plate and wall...

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...
