I assume that yer at college and these are questions that have been set for you to help yer learn, do you honestly believe yer gonna learn anything by just passing the questions onto this forum, I sometimes despair at mistakes and cockups I find on jobs from experianced installers and after seeing this and the other thread you have posted I despair even more, the point of being at college is to learn yer trade not just to pass an exam, so even though you now have the answers I suggest that you still learn about what you have been asking

well said unguided1. it staggers me sometimes the questions trainees ask on here that they should be asking their trainers or indeed reading up about. lazieness springs to mind.

The answer will be in your college book. Along with the rest of the answers.

its a safe bet anyone whose handle starts with cool is at college im suprised its not spelt with a K

There was one put in my Dad's new house in the early 1960's. Did not work too well when the coal boiler got too hot on a windy day.

How about this as a better question ?

Q: How would you identify a primatic cylinder by the associated pipework ?

I have a plumber coming tomorrow to change a cartridge on a badly dripping tap on my bathroom mixer unit. There is no separate isolating valve for this tap so I'll have to close the stopcock. I tried closing it today but it won't go absolutely 100% closed and there is still a very slight flow...
