i've had it twice on my cards, and one attempt at identity fraud. I now have a password on my credit file with the credit reference agencies, so that no-one can credit check me without the password, so noone can open credit facilities in my name. It does slow down certain transactions, but its worth it for the greater peace of mind.

We can't be certain Alex so we are assuming the worst. Although we have no evidence of old transactions, I would be inclined to go back a few months at least.

Its good practice anyway - this is getting regrettably commonplace these days.

How do you get a password against your credit file?

I got the letter this morning. But have always paid with bacs.

We've had one of our cards stopped by Santander after someone tried to nick £6,300 from our account in one card transaction on a card used on the site. Ray we had your letter this morning in the post about a week after the attempted theft in this case.

Ray this may be of use, this is the second card we've had fraud on within a month and I *think* both stopped cards were both used on your website. In fact I'm sure they were. The one before this was stopped at the end of February so I would assume they have got information going back to at least then.

On the first occasion £12k was taken from our account before we clocked it but we got it all back within 72 hours thanks to Santander. They now phone me up every time a transaction goes through online lol.

At least we've found why this is happening so for that thanks for the letter Ray.
