I am having trouble removing the cassette on a victoria plumb matrix tap. you cannot use an adjustable spanner on the main body to remove, it requires some form of specialist tool to remove. There are 2 half round grooves in the main body approx 8mm. can anyone recommend where to get the right tool to remove the cassette?

A picture always helps in these cases.

Can you not get a socket onto that hexagonal nut?

Yep, but it won't undo the whole cassette. It looks like a specific tool is needed?

Can you not get the tool from Victoria plumb? If not could you pop a screwdriver into the slot and tap it round with a hammer until it loosens? Obviously you would do so at your own risk.

They are disposable tat, even if you get the thing out victoria plumb wont help you. They will make you buy a whole new tap just to get the cartrige.

You might get a univeral cartrige to fit off ebay.

Thanks for your help chaps. I will give it a go with a screwdriver and gently tap it round. I do have a replacement though I agree everything I have bought from VP is tat!

I would try tapping it around, first on one side then on the other side and so on.
