Just out of interest;

What gas pressure do you guys run at from the property side of the meter?

Oz-plumber

Thanks,

We work on 1.1 kPa - 11 mbar.
Quite low compared to you guys.

We are on natural gas.
Its been a bone of contention over here for as long as I can remember our gas pressures.
We have to run such large gas pipes on jobs due to the low pressure.
Its not unusual for us to run 50mm or 65mm gas supply from the meter to service larger domestic houses.
Have had a couple of jobs where we have had to start at the gas meter with 80mm or 100mm pipe.

Bet that's cheap. What pressure drop u allowed over length of run?

Customer must love that a 80mm gas running through there house. The costs must also be huge

Pressure Drop of 0.075 kPa.

The costs for gas installations are what they are.
Most domestic houses would have 25mm or 32mm pipe from the meter.
Please note: our pipe sizes are measured OD - I think you guys measure ID.

Our pipe sizes - for copper - are as per the imperial sizes ( Plumbing )
1/2" - 12.7mm OD, 3/4" - 19mm OD, 1" 25.4mm.

You guys seem to mention often 22mm & 28mm pipe.
Which are sizes we are not accustomed to.. unless when doing refrigeration pipework.

Ours go in OD and mm

6,8,10,12,15,22,28,35,42,54

usually any bigger and people start using steel

Hi, basic question, any insight much appreciated. Looking to have an outdoor tap in my front porch fed from 15mm pex coming up from suspended floor. Pic 1 is inside porch, pex temporarily clipped to give an idea of pipe placement (ignore shoddy blockwork of booted cowboy builder!), Pic 2 is...
