Light on in cupboard but no noise also tried to reset it but no luck both stats renewed at Christmas

Have you got a multimeter or even a voltage detection device? Quickest way to narrow down the problem is to check whether there is voltage to the immersion element. If so, element could be burned out, or faulty stat but that's unlikely if they were both recently changed. If not, there's a problem further upstream. Has it worked since the stats were replaced??

Voltage detectors cost less than £10. Please DON'T be tempted to use a neon screwdriver. They are dangerously unreliable...

Yes it has worked since being replaced the off peak is coming on its just the boost that isn't

It is possible that you have a faulty unit, I've had them in the past, these days you cant rely on anything working when you take it out of the box, Manufacturing quality is declining. Get the guy back that fitted them items still under warranty

So you have hot water , its just you think the boost isnt working ?
If the cylinder is to temperature it wont work untill the cylinder cools .

Yes we had ran a bath for my son and needed the water hit for my bath and after being in an hour water was just warm usually when water boost is on you can hear a loud noise in tank but there is nothing apart from off peak you hear it heating the water
