Hi,

Hopefully somebody can shed some light on my problem.....?

Yesterday, I turned the hot tap on in the kitchen and there was no water - not a drop. The cold water (it's a mixer tap) comes out perfectly normally - with what appears to be the usual pressure.

Every other hot tap in the house is working and hot water comes out. The central heating is on and all the radiators are hot.

I've had a heater blowing under the kitchen sink for about an hour and a few drops have come out but they were very few and far between and nothing seems to have come out in about the last 20 minutes.

I can't see any leaks anyhwere in the house.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Darren

Sorry, should have said.....

No, the mixer tap has been in for 12 months.

where do the pipes run under the sink along the wall or up through the floor?

A lot depends on the type of heating system you have. Chances are, you have an air lock in the hot pipe to your sink. This could be as a result of a fault developing elsewhere in the system. Get a rag, hold it tightly over the mixer tap spout. Turn on the hot tap and then gradually introduce some cold water. The mains cold water pressure is greater and will push out any air lock in the pipe.

i agree with baldric could be an airlock just do as he says and see if that helps the situation.

Hi, maybe your tap is faulty. Spindle not raising, washer stuck, etc.

Depending on which part of the country you are in and how the pipe is run it is frozen.

Hi, basic question, any insight much appreciated. Looking to have an outdoor tap in my front porch fed from 15mm pex coming up from suspended floor. Pic 1 is inside porch, pex temporarily clipped to give an idea of pipe placement (ignore shoddy blockwork of booted cowboy builder!), Pic 2 is...
