I'm too generous rpm that's always been my problem! I thought 32 would be more than enough and I wouldn't end up looking mean!!
 
I got £2800 per tonne a few weeks ago, looks like it's gone up since then
Although around my way, December is always a bad time for scrap
 
I weighed in this week.

Got £3.80 per kg for clean copper and 3.30 per kg for braziery.
Ithink brass was 2.20kg and lead washed hexs were around 2.50kg.

Got paid £1200 in total
 
My Xmas bonus was £499. this year the prices in my area are in the attached receipt.

Prices in Cardiff as of today
Clean unused copper £3.70/kg
Pipe with paint/solder £3.25/kg
Brass £2.30/kg
Lead1.20-1.35/kg depending on where you go.
Prices are dropping every day apparently as we get closer to christmas
 
Weighed in today , looking at what some of you guys got , I was bloody robbed , I have suspected it for a while , this confirms it .

i scrap everything and strip everything from rad valves to the the brass nuts in combis, taps etc. Strip foam of cylinders Then bag it and tag it.

What does everyone else do ?
i dont bother with motors though give them scrappie who collect my steel

Have done since I left school, It was my job when we were quiet.

I tell you what I don't see any more ....... Gun Metal. ( Bronze ).

I used to fill a bin wi them shaun. Back in eighteen hundred and frozen to death when I were a lad. Havin said that, Back then no plumber in his right mind would use a brass fitting on DHW, now you can buy a cylinder wi brass connections.......Mad as a box o frogs

yep soon we wont be using copper as its bad for us
 
960 quid!! Chinese feast tonight. I'll treat Kate to crispy duck with the "£120" she thinks I got!!
 
All mine is stripped but , never any clean copper
£2.50 Brazery
£ 2.00 brass
Trinity metals , only reason I go is it is a 20 min drive,

Cheers for the Otley tip Jules , a mega van full maybe a good idea.

If anybody local to me knows the tale about Frances / Trinity , joke init lol

IS IT POSSIBLE TO ADJUST THIS MIXER UNIT? WE HAVE TO HAVE IT TURNED ALMOST FULLY ANTI CLOCKWISE TO GET HOT WATEROUT. THE FRONT PLATE WITH MIRA ON IT PRISES OFF AND INSIDE THERE ARE SOME PLASTIC BITS AND A SMALL CROSS-HEAD SCREW IN THE MIDDLE. THANKS
