Evening all,

I have been to a job this evening where several of the themostatic shower valves have seized and there is evidence of limescale everywhere. The house is a new build, a few years old and the plumbing is pretty shoddy in places.

Question, does anyone have a reccmendation of an inline strainer and limescale device combo, if there is such a thing or just one a y strainer of filter. It is not practical to have a water sofnter as also the cost is too much. I am hoping that the strainer and limescale device will prolong the new shower repairs I am planning to do!

Cheers!

Nothing will solve your problem except a water softener! No inline devices have been proven to work, despite the fact that many people have bought them in the hope they do! You can get inexpensive water softeners, but you buy cheap and you buy twice!

Can't you get a combi mate for the whole house and in 22mm ?

We run a community village hall and have a large kitchen provided for the use of hirers. This includes a Lincat SLR9 gas cooker which I believe is a 23.8Kw appliance with all six burners and oven on max. This was installed some 10 years ago and has passed all subsequent Gas Safety inspections as...
