I have a Rayburn 460KB with a Megaflo 200 litre unit and it's no more thirsty than a regular conventional boiler.
and you also have happy petsoccassionally if the missus is ill, I'll find her lying asleep on the dogs mega cushion with a clean rug laid out in front of our aga and all the dogs and cats looking at her on their bed!! lol
have to laugh at electric rayburns, heat ciols in front to make them feel like old rayburns. still warms up on cooker tho and tops are warm most of the time on ones i serviceNo you won't, the modern Heatranger Rayburn and the 680KCD don't get hot unless you have the oven on. More like a regular boiler. Very well insulated and little waste heat. When it is running on heating only, the outside is cold to the touch.
Cheers for advice guys, grant it is. Bye bye 1800 quid
i couldnt afford an leccy aga, wouldnt want one eitherA friend of a friend has a new electric AGA and rarely uses it as she says she can't afford to run it, and uses the old electric cooker in the utility room instead. What a laugh!
