I'm fitting a shower mixer that has no means of securing it to the tile surface other than relying on the hot and cold supplies to support it.
What method of fixing would you recommend?

Normally they have a base plate that the shower fixes to

Never see on that doesn't have some sort of fixings

Plenty bar mixer fitting kits , toolstation , plumb center , screwfix etc

Not always mate. I have seen them come out the wall with 15mm x 1/2” female connectors with the threaded shower adaptors straight into these with no fixing kit at all.

Depends if it's a shower bar mixer then yes but if it's one semi built in they normally fix through the shower valve
