Horrendous Noise when I use the hot water taps

Hi

I have no gas in my property, just electric and I think I have an emmersion hot water tank ? It has 2 tanks and supplies just hot water to my kitchen and bathroom. I have recently had to replace the heating element and since then evey time I use the hot water taps there is an horrendous 'groaning' sound coming from what I think are the pipes ?

Any ideas what it could be ?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Sounds like the ball valve may need replacing.

If its the ball valve in the cold water storage tank as mentioned above, would the noise not also happen when the toilet is flushed?

ok fair enough.....I thought all household toilets were fed from a cold water storage tank.

i would have argued till I was blue in the face if this was mentioned at college. haha

lol what would happen if you had a combi installed ? there would be no cws tanks at all

So true, can you tell i have only ever lived in houses with older systems in place.....makes perfect sense now.
