Hi,

I am having a small problem with my hot water system.

The thermostat does seem to be switching on the boiler to get some hot water. In order to get hot water I have to manually push the leaver of the danfoss type hpa2 actuator and keep it in the little recess where the leaver gets stuck in (which i think is the open position - please confirm). After doing so the boiler turns on.

Does this mean the actuator needs replacing? or could the fault come from else where?

Many thanks
Seb

Sounds like the head needs replacing, them ones are rubbish. Replace it with a Honeywell type if you are competent with the electrics.
You would need to test the valve with a multimeter first though, it could even be the cylinder stat or timer.
