Ideal Logic 30kw combi. Hot water noise

Hi guys,

Ive just had a customer phone and say that there boiler is making a loud noise whenever they run the hot water. Has anybody else come across the of this? Im going to go and have a look in a couple of days and just wanted a bit of a head start before i get there.

could be something simple like a tap? vibrations through pipework etc......

I popped round to have a look at it just before Xmas but typically when I got there it wasn't doing it!

I went back to the job yesterday and the noise was happening. It only happens when running hot water and not on central heating. I think the problem may be with the hot water flow switch? I removed the cartridge to see if anything was in there but it looked clear. It's difficult to tell if it was that making a noise so I've ordered a replacement as there on £19 plus vat. I'm don't think it's a problem with the fan or the pump as it only happens on hot water? Has anyone else had this on a logic before? Cheers guys

Check the Venturi for a blockage. Go told by an ideal engineer this cause a lot of noise problems, may only do it when it modulates right up in hw mode.

He demonstrated it with a piece of paper.
