Hi, i cannot get any hot water with this Sime boiler, unless i turn on the central heating via the thermostat and even then it is luke warm. The central heating works perfectly, but when the C.H. is off and i want hot water the pilot light will not fire up. The engineer says i need to "flush" the system and if this does not work maybe a new boiler. I have had the boiler 7 years.
Hope someone can help, thanks.

Well if your heating is working ok,does not sound like flushing i will do the job as regards hot water

Maybe plate blocked but on heating mode boiler would come on and off

Try hot water diaphragm or diverter or valve faulty, which if you have not had serviced ,after 7 years is about due

imho

Many thanks for that. My boiler is on an annual service plan but the engineers never seem to open up the boiler cover and check properly. I will be getting a second opinion.

Cheers.
