Hello,

I am wondering if anyone has come across this problem before? I have a 4 year old Worcester Greenstar 25si. The problem is that it keeps getting water inside the unit, which is knocking out the electrics (the red reset button starts flashing and it does not fire up). The water appears to be coming from the Flue (there are water marks all the way down). The technicians at Worcester say it is rain coming down the Flue that must be causing it, however as it has rained for the last 4 years I doubt this is the case!

When the Plumber removed the Flue there was some evidence of water marks coming down the flue (it was partially rusted) however he doesn't know what is causing this and has said the next stage would be to replace the Flue. I have concerns about this as I have only just got the boiler four years ago and have already had to replace the costly fan unit, which the water had damaged but which the Plumber failed to isolate the cause of.

I would have expected the boiler to last a bit longer!

If anyone can help or offer any advice it would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

There seems to be a pattern of very old WB threads being dug up.

First thing, you'll need to register and start a new thread with your specific issue.

Second, you will not receive any information relating to a gas appliance from this forum.

Your only legal way forward would be to get a gas safe registered engineer in the look at it.
