i want to install 6 sprinklers in the garden linked to a Hozelock automatic water timer. The sprinklers will be pushed into the soil and the hose hidden so its a permanent solution.

At the moment with 6 sprinklers going the pressure is a bit low. How can i boost this? would i need a pump, a separate water tank?

can anyone think of a cheap way to do this.

i do have a shower pump going spare if anyone can think of a way to use it?

any advice please.

thanks

my father-in-law set up a good system. he used to work in a chemical works and managed to get hold of a used chemical container (4ft square with metal cage round it) hooked it up to the guttering and used an old ch pump. but he used that weeping hose not sprinklers. works well.

Hi. It not good practice to connect the mains supply to such a permanent scheme. However the method mentioned by stevb works well and the added benifit being better water for the garden and the ability to add products to the water via the storage vessel, that may be needed to enhance growth etc. These containers can be sourced via trades that work with fibre glass (the resin comes in them. Boat builders etc.) But you may need to have room for a couple as your scheme will use a lot of water per session. Good Luck

Hi

Why do you say it's not a good idea to connect the mains system up this way?
thanks

Hi. When the main supply is connected to a system you describe, there is a possibility of back syphonage that can contaminate the main supply. (With a high water table as can be experienced during heavy rainfall the pipe/hose can be submerged) Under these conditions double check vale is insufficient, and an air gap must be employed for protection.
