Two Cold Water Tanks

Hi all,
if you have read some of my recent posts, you will know I am fitting a whole house pump this weekend. One thing that just came to mind.

In my loft, I have 2 x 25 gallon plastic water tanks, connected together at the base with a 22mm pipe. I recently moved the cold direct feed away from the primary of the tanks to the secondary, because all 3 of the feeds to appliances are in the primary.

Now that I am installing the whole house pump, I will cut off and block the cold feed from the cistern to the en-suite shower. This is because it will be coming out of the pump instead.

So, 2 drops from the cistern... One will be into the bottom of the hot tank... One will feed the whole house pump...

So the question, is the 22mm between the 2 plastic tanks enough? is waster going to move from secondary tanks quick enough now that the pump is pulling out of the primary tank, or, maybe I should make a second 22mm connection between the 2 tanks... or... maybe I should also install a second ball valve so that both tanks are filled by the direct feed?

Or... Is it all OK as it is?

At the moment you could leave as is ,if I was installing from new,would probably fit 28mm between the two tanks
However you should be ok as you are, as it is related to flow output through existing outlets,so maybe only a problem may develop if running hot and cold on bath at same time and you can alter at a later date if required
Or you may take the view,sod it ,it will only take 1/2 hr extra,will fit extra 22mm tank link or increase existing to 28mm and thats it finished with,which if I was doing job professionally would do

Hi, Like Puddle suggested put a larger pipe between the two tanks or at least put an additional 22mm pipe between the two tanks, maybe slightly higher than the original one so you get move flow within the two tanks.
