Hello

I have a Vaillant Turbomax 824 boiler that has an issue where the boiler pressure is increasing slightly each time the hot water is used. I have pumped expansion vessel upto 12psi and ran it for a short while before I drained system again to add a radiator. When I checked the expansion vessel pressure is was at 7 psi (2 days later). Is it like a normal car schrader valve where I can replace the valve part on the expansion vessel? Are there any other areas to look at for why the pressure rises when in hot water operation?

Cheers
Neil

Not working on inside of boiler, only thing I have done is charge the expansion vessel. Anything that required something like that I would get someone to do. I'm trying to figure out what is causing the issue and if you can change the schrader valve insert on the expansion vessel. Guy who looked at boiler when it was serviced just seemed keen to price up for replacement boiler instead of trying to sort issue.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the standard internal vessel is undid the boiler casing.

You need to be gas safe registered to take the case off the boiler and work on any of the internal components.

It may seem pedantic to you but the law and also the forum rules exist for the safety of not only yourself, but your family and those of your neighbours.

Please stop meddling in your boiler internals and call a gas safe registered engineer. Choose a different engineer if you weren't happy with a previous one.

The case on that boiler forms part of the combustion seal.

Unless you are a qualified and competent gsr you must not be removing it.

Turn the boiler off and call in a gsr.
