Hi Everyone
Wonder if someone can help me.
I have to replace a couple of 250g tanks and some pipework in an old London block of flats.
the tanks are 6 floors up and feed the flats below,
Comming out of the tanks are 2 x 1 1/4" pipes that have stopcocks on them and they then go down to feed the flats below.
Immediately before the stopcocks are what I can only describe as some sort of vent.
There is a 1/2" pipe rising vertical to above the water level in the tanks and then doubling back on itself and left open.
Can someone tell me what they are there for and do they need re-instating when I replace the pipe work?
I am sorry if this is a bit of numpty question but i have never seen anything like it before.
Many thanks in advance.
