water leaks down the internal overflow everytime i flush

i have a macdee arcadia inlet valve (i think) it flushes fine but when its finished flushing the water carries on filling and goes down the internal overflow pipe. This does stop eventually but its got a lot worse. It will also stop if i push down on the inlet valve. Any ideas much appreciated thanks 🙂

welcome to the forums. change it for a fluidmaster you won't get any problems with it then.

Probably a build up of debris and chalk on the washer and the seal. You can try cleaning them and turning the washer over but probably just as quick to replace.

nope but if you go for a brass shank its much harder to strip and flood the place no disrespect intended but ballvalves are a right pita

remember if it enters the cistern at the side you need a side entry,if its at the bottom you need a bottom entry valve
