Hi there
Any help much appreciated. Earlier this evening I turned the water off to fix a mixer tap in the kitchen (poor water flow from cold tap). Sorted that out no probs. When I turned the water back on everythings gone crazy. The downstairs toilet keeps flushing so I reduced the pressure as it looked like the pressure was forcing too much water into the cistern. This didn't really help and so I have now isolated this toilet. Now the upstairs toilet is flushing so I turned the pressure down again and now the cold water has stopped upstairs. I've been messing about all evening trying to get the pressure right it seems the toilets flush or there's no cold water !!! Not sure if there could be an airlock ??? Any help would be much appreciated.

Also - I know nothing about plumbing, but this may mean something to someone. If you flush the upstairs toilet and then turn the sink tap on, the cistern stops filling. Don't understand that either.

Many thanks
Jeff

"I know nothing about plumbing, but this may mean something to someone" yes , that you need to call a plumber next time 😉doubt it if it would be an airlock , how many turns did you give the stop tap to close it off?

It's posible some muck has shot up inside the valves when you turned the water back on and damaged the seats/washers. You need to strip the float operated valves down to check although I'd be inclined to fit new ones.
