Water Pressure

Hi guys,

I'm looking to find a way to improve water pressure.

Current set up is cold water tank in the loft and hot water cylinder.

The cold supply in the kitchen is off the mains and the pressure is excellent but the hot supply and the supply off the cold tank to everywhere else in the house is rubbish.

The real issue is trying to take a shower - the shower is an attachment to the bath taps and the pressure is so bad it's hardly worth having a shower.

Previous house had combi boiler with no cold water storage so everything was off the mains and pressure was great.

Is there anything I can do to improve pressure?

There are a few options.
If it's just the shower that's important, you could fit a decent electric one with a feed from the mains, the higher the wattage of the shower, the higher the flow rate will be. There will be pipes from the mains going to the cylinder header tank that could be branched to feed the shower..
To sort out the whole house, you could fit a twin impeller pump to pump the tank fed hot and cold supplies, or get a combi installed and repipe to give mains pressure(ish) to all your hot and cold outlets.

Twin impeller pump is a cheap option, but you will get pump noise every time you use a tap. Combi as said is an option, or Unvented Hot Water Vessel off the mains and do away with the stored water.

as said, but has the pressure and flow been tested?
how much do you want to spend!

Loads of different options available , , the cheapest one would be to cut a pump in if youve a mixer shower, or simply put a pump onto hot water that can feed multiple outlets , but like simon siad it really depends on what your willing to spend, the pumps are ok but can be noisey ( certain makes )
