Doomed

OK, whenever we cook something quite aromatic, most notably onions, the shower water next day smells of whatever we cooked. Fed up of smelling like a hot dog.
Both kitchen and bathroom on ground floor.
Kitchen sink waste goes straight through external wall into a drain, this drain line then picks up the shower and washing machine outfalls slightly further down the garden.
All the water pipes stay internal.
Shower is a standard 8.5KW electric shower.

Ideas?

P.S. Can't upload images?

Try fitting one of these to the bath waste.

None of the outfalls are directly connected to the main sewer, they all empty into drains like this (can't upload my own pics)

Kitchen sink and boiler condense into one, shower and washing machine into another, and bath & sink into a third.

Hi Doomed,

I don't think your problems is with the plumbing that we can help you with.

Your internal body plumbing may be the problem.

Do you have reflux?
Do you have a flatulance problems the day after eating your aromatic meals?
Is you toilet in the same room as the shower?

Wife and kids all say the same - so its not me 🙂

The kitchen extract goes straight through an external wall, the bathroom extract through another wall on another edge of the house.

Do you have stored hot water?

I had a customer who I had to go out on two occasions to.

He had garlic water. He had over a bulb of garlic In his cylinder. Couldnt figure it out but imagine its to do with a previous plumber being shortchanged.

I better make sure I carry a few bulbs of garlic in my van from now on. Any suggestions I will be short changed & I'll drop one 'somewhere'. If payment materialise, I'll find a reason to attend and remove garlic 🙂
